About Other Mysteries

Beyond the traditional categories — sunken ships, ghost towns, buried caches — sit the stories that don't fit anywhere else. Unexplained archaeological sites. Local legends with just enough truth in them to keep people looking. Historical enigmas nobody's ever definitively solved.

This category is intentionally the odd one out. It's less about a defined hunting technique and more about the mysteries themselves — the folklore, the cold cases, the "nobody knows what really happened here" stories that keep people searching decades or centuries later.

We're actively building this section out. Below are a few of the most famous unsolved mysteries in the world to set the tone — but the real value here will come from the community: local legends, regional cold cases, and the mysteries you've personally run into in the field. If you've got one, the forum is the place to bring it.

Unexplained Phenomena — Investigate strange occurrences and anomalies in the field.

  • Archaeological Mysteries — Explore ancient sites and artifacts with unknown origins.

  • Historical Enigmas — Research unsolved historical events and lost treasures.

  • Community Investigations — Join others solving local mysteries and legends — this is where the real content will come from as the section grows.

  • Forum Discussion — Got a local legend, a cold case, or a personal “I still don’t know what I found” story? This is exactly the place for it. Discuss this on the forum

Research local legends and folklore for potential leads — small-town libraries and historical societies often hold stories that never made it online.

  • Document your findings thoroughly with photos and detailed notes.

  • Connect with historical societies and local experts — they usually know the version of the story that never made the internet.

  • Investigate unexplained rock formations and unusual landscape features.

  • Keep an open mind, but maintain healthy skepticism — most "legend" treasure has no supporting historical record.

  • Always respect sacred sites and cultural heritage.
